Growth in Chinese output slows
China produced 64.66Mt of crude steel in June, up 4.6% from a year earlier, according to data released by the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS). The daily average crude steel output in June stood at 2.1553Mt, down 0.3% from 2.1624Mt in May.
For the six-months January to June, the country’s crude steel output totalled 389.87Mt, up 7.4% from the same period last year.
Pig iron output in June was 58.34Mt, up 2.9% from a year earlier, while the total output from January to June grew 5.7% year on year to 357.54Mt.
