New appointments at TATA Steel

TV Narendran has taken over from HM Nerukar as managing director of TATA Steel India and South East Asia. Mr Nerukar retired on 31 October.

Koushik Chatterjee has been appointed group executive director (finance and corporate) for TATA Steel.

Both appointments mark the beginning of a transition phase for the steel giant.

Koushik Chatterjee said that TATA Steel’s performance had been ‘robust’, adding that the company would deliver across all of its projections, including  the upcoming Kalinganagar project, which, he said, was a top priority.

Both Chatterjee and Narendran, along with TATA’s MD and CEO for TATA Steel Europe, Dr. Karl Koehler, will report to the chairman and the board.
